Enjoy this 5 Day / 4 Night excursion as we visit the areas of Barkley Sound. Much known for its natural beauty, this Barkley Sound Adventure offers fantastic fishing opportunities, beautiful sunsets and landscapes, and is one of the easier destinations to get out and fully enjoy.
Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Board the Silver Fox at 12:00 noon, and travel down the Alberni Canal witnessing a true working coast. With spectacular views of mountains and waterfalls entering Barkley Sound. Drop crab and prawn traps overnight in San Mateo Bay.
Day 2: Visit the coastal village of Bamfield, Walk the famous boardwalk and watch the sunset at beautiful Brady’s Beach. Overnight in Bamfield.
Day 3: Share in the history and culture of the Huu-ay-aht’s participating in the Kiixin cultural tour. Visiting the only known remaining complete first nations village on the southern BC coast. Overnight in the Pacific Rim National Park of the Broken Group Islands.
Day 4: Explore the sandy beaches of the Pacific Rim National Park of the Broken Group Islands, which consist of over 100 islands, inlets and rocky outcrops scattered in the sheltered waters of Barkley Sound. Overnight in Vernon Bay.
Day 5: Visit a working shellfish farm and learn about the aquaculture industry in western Vancouver Island. Enjoy nature at its finest while leaving Barkley Sound and cruising up the Alberni Canal with fantastic wildlife viewing and photo opportunities. Arrive back into Port Alberni.

Barkley Sound - 5 Day / 4 Night Charter
While the route for a charter may differ based on preference or weather, this is a route option that can be used as a base trip for planning.
1 - Arrive into San Matteo Bay from Port Alberni.
2 - Leave San Matteo Bay and arrive into Bamfield.
3 - Leave Bamfiled and arrive into the Broken Island Group.
4 - Leave the Broken Islad Group and arrive into Vernon Bay.
5 - Leave Vernon Bay and travel back to Port Alberni.
