Sample Itinerary

Day

1

Board the Silver Fox at 12:00 noon, and travel down the Alberni Canal witnessing a true working coastline. Witness spectacular views of mountains and waterfalls entering Barkley Sound. Drop crab and prawn traps overnight in San Mateo Bay.

Day

2

Visit the coastal village of Bamfield. Walk the famous boardwalk and watch the sunset at beautiful Brady’s Beach. Overnight in Bamfield.

Immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of the Huu-ay-aht First Nations with a guided Kiixin cultural tour. Visit the only known remaining complete first nations village on the southern BC coast. Overnight in the Pacific Rim National Park of the Broken Group Islands.

Discover the sandy beaches of Pacific Rim National Park within the Broken Group Islands – over 100 islands, inlets, and rocky outcrops nestled in the sheltered waters of Barkley Sound. Overnight in Vernon Bay.

Visit a working shellfish farm and learn about the aquaculture industry on western Vancouver Island. Enjoy nature at its finest while leaving Barkley Sound and cruising up the Alberni Canal with fantastic wildlife viewing and photo opportunities. Arrive back into Port Alberni.
