Coho Salmon (Silver)

Best Fishing Times: June to October

Coho are fast, aggressive, and surface‑oriented — perfect for anglers who love action. Their acrobatic fights and consistent late‑summer numbers make them one of the most exciting species to target in Barkley Sound.

Chum Salmon

Best Fishing Times: September to November

Chum arrive in strong fall runs and are known for their power and stamina. They provide excellent late‑season fishing opportunities when other species begin to taper off.

Sockeye Salmon

Best Fishing Times: June to August

Sockeye travel in large schools and offer steady, high‑volume action during peak migration years. Their rich, bright‑red fillets make them one of the most prized salmon for the table.

Pink Salmon

Best Fishing Times: July to September

Pink salmon are the smallest of BC’s salmon species and return in large numbers, creating fast‑paced action for anglers. They follow a strict two‑year life cycle, with spawning occurring from June to mid‑October . Their abundance makes them ideal for family‑friendly fishing.

Lingcod

Best Fishing Times: April to October

Greenling

Best Fishing Times: April to October

Common around kelp beds and rocky shorelines, greenling are smaller but plentiful fish that add steady action to the day. Their mild, white fillets make them a great addition to your catch.
