FAQs

Find answers to the questions we hear most often about our trips, booking, and what to expect on the water.

General Questions

Silverfox Marine Charters has been offering eco-tour and fishing charters since 1986.

We are locally owned and operated. We partner with First Nations communities in the territories we visit and keep our knowledge of these areas current. We follow all park and conservation regulations, pay applicable fees, and obtain permits for limited-use areas. We invest in preserving the natural environments and wildlife we encounter, and we regularly maintain and upgrade our vessels and lodging to be more efficient and environmentally responsible.

Absolutely. If you advise us in advance, we can accommodate most dietary requirements.

We offer a selection of wines and craft beers to enjoy with dinner, but alcohol is not a focus of our trips. Our priority is getting you out to explore the nature, wildlife, and culture of the coast, making the most of daylight hours by boat and on foot.

We ask all guests to be responsible with alcohol. Our trips take place in a remote wilderness setting: weather can change quickly, the water is cold, currents are strong, tides are significant, and help is far away. Each day involves activities in small boats (zodiacs, kayaks) and on foot along the wild coast. For this reason, we do not serve alcohol during daytime hours except on special occasions where it can be done safely.

Depending on the trip you book, you'll have opportunities to go ashore during the day as well as spend time at our lodge in the evening.

You’ll travel aboard one of our two well-maintained vessels, the 40 ft Silverfox or the 28 ft Tin Fox, guided by an experienced captain. As our guest, you’re in good hands. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

You’re also welcome to go for paddles in the spectacular bays where we anchor, or around the lodge.

We typically host 4 guests at a time.

Booking & Payments

Choose your trip type, preferred date/time, and group size, then submit the booking request. We’ll confirm availability and send a deposit invoice to secure your spot.

Yes. A 50% deposit holds the date. The remaining balance is due 1 month before departure.

E-transfer is the preferred method of payment. If you require another method, ask during booking.

Cancellations & Weather

If you need to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible. Your 50% deposit will be held and applied toward a future booking. The remaining 50% can also be applied toward a future date or refunded, depending on your preference.

Safety is our top priority. We operate primarily in sheltered waters, and if conditions aren't suitable in one area, we'll move to somewhere more appropriate.

Not always. Light rain can be manageable, but wind and sea conditions are usually the deciding factors.
